Use our suggested itineraries to explore what our region has to offer...
Whether you are a serious walker, a casual rambler or an occasional stroller, ’close up’ and ‘out in the open air’ is the best way to fully appreciate the natural beauty of the Oxfordshire Cotswolds.
Equipped with one of the relevant OS maps, you can easily devise your own walks. All of these, along with a wide range of guide books and local walks collections, are available to purchase in the local Visitor Information Centres. Many are also available from our online shop. Alternatively there is a selection of free downloadable walks.
If you want some experienced guidance and expert interpretation of the landscape, then why not join one of the regular guided walks led by Cotswolds Conservation Board voluntary wardens. The walks are free, open to everyone and often take in the local hospitality! There are also a number of professional guides, such as Talking Walks, who charge for longer or more specialised walks. Details of guided walks are available in our events diary.
If you want a short break (or longer holiday) centred around walking, Evenlode Walking, a small family business based in Charlbury, offer customised, self-guided walking holidays around the area. Walk the Landscape also offer walking holidays or day walks around the Chipping Norton area and further afield in Oxfordshire and the Cotswolds.
