Brize Norton
An excellent base for exploring Oxford and the upper Thames Valley and a haven for aeroplane enthusiasts, Brize Norton dates from the Middle Ages. Until 1937 the village was a self-sufficient agricultural community linked with Bampton. It is now home to the largest RAF station in the UK and the nerve centre of the RAF’s transport capabilities.
