Eynsham
The ancient market town of Eynsham began life as a small Romano-British settlement and today retains much of its medieval heritage, including 16th and 17th century buildings constructed from materials taken from the abbey which was demolished on the orders of King Henry VIII and the old Swinford toll bridge where the keeper still charges a mere 5p per car for crossing the River Thames.
