Finstock
Sitting within the boundaries of the ancient royal hunting Forest of Wychwood, Finstock is a peaceful village which dates back to 1135. While parts of the village are of recent origin, it boasts the oldest Methodist church in the region, where T.S. Eliot was received into the Church of England in 1927. The name Finstock means a place frequented by woodpeckers – look for some today!
The Village Shop and Post Office, located in a converted barn, is owned by the local community and serves not only Finstock but Fawler and Ramsden.
