An independent museum located on the first floor of the 19th century Chipping Norton Co-op Society Meeting Hall and run by the local history society.
Among the many exhibits are the following: prehistoric and Roman artefacts; from Saxon Manor to Market Town in pictures; a display of farming equipment; local industries; Chippy at War - The Home Front; "Granny's Kitchen" - a hands-on replica of a between wars kitchen; Chipping Norton Baseball Club - "All England Champions"; law and order in Chipping Norton.
In the Museum you will also find: a reference section for family history research including copies of parish records; a valuable collection of more than two thousand postcards of local places and events arranged in albums; and a museum shop.
You will find the entrance to the museum opposite the town hall steps. It is only accessible by stairs.
Open from Easter until the end of October.
Monday to Saturday (& Bank Holiday Mondays): 2-4pm
Entrance £1.50. Children under 16 are free and must be accompanied by an adult.
