Something Different

Something different - the kind of events that you won't find elsewhere, events unique to the Oxfordshire Cotswolds.

Many are local celebrations of local traditions or historical events: Levellers' Day in Burford commemorates the Leveller rebellion against Cromwell's dictatorship in 1649; Woodstock Mock Mayor celebrations recall the rivalry between the two Woodstocks, old & new; Bampton Day of Dance celebrates the strong tradition of Morris dancing in the Oxfordshire Cotswolds.

Others celebrate quirks of nature, like Fritillary Sunday, or are just locals raising money for charitable causes and having fun doing it, like Cassington Bike Night, Charlbury Riverside FestivalThe Great Brook Run or The World Pooh Sticks Championships!
