Five beautiful award-winning hand-crafted stone cottages with exquisite interiors and wonderful views. Lovingly converted from an old stone farm building, set round a stunning paved courtyard with water garden, the properties offer guests the ultimate in comfort, quality and cleanliness. Enjoy the high standard of craftsmanship, one of the the hallmarks of this idyllic retreat.
Furniture and fittings were hand built by local craftsmen in English hardwoods, much of it from the estate's own trees, and a local blacksmith was commissioned to create imaginative ironwork to enhance many of the doors, windows and fireplaces.
All cottages have full central heating and open fireplaces with unlimited firewood, all linen and towels are provided, along with a host of small items to ensure the perfect holiday, including 100 mbps broadband, Smart TVs and DAB Roberts radios. Outdoors, there are 70 acres of wildflower meadows and woodland to explore and a croquet lawn plus games shed packed full of equipment.
Heath Farm was awarded the prestigious Green Tourism Business Scheme Gold Award in 2014 and has maintaned this ever since. The owners, David and Nena Barbour, have encouraged a diversity of wildlife habitats as part of a continuing conservation project started in the 1970s and now complemented with the first planting of a hazel coppice in Oxfordshire in 100 years. There is also a natural supply of spring water on tap, a wood pellet boiler, solar panels, recycled paper products and environmentally-friendly toiletries and cleaning products.
In the middle of nowhere, but on the edge of everything, Heath Farm has access to all major facilities. There are local shops, as well as excellent pubs and restaurants just a few minutes away by car and major Cotswold attractions including Oxford and Statford within 30 minutes drive and Bicester Village 17 miles making it an ideal and tranquil base for exploring the Cotswolds.
For families, cots, highchairs and stairgates are available free of charge. There is plenty of outdoor space to run around and play in, plus a games room for wet weather days. It’s a great place for young nature lovers, with rural activities like collecting nuts and berries, building camps in the woods. Children books for identifying birds, flowers, insects and trees provided in the games room.
