Rectory Farm

We are passionate about our small corner of the Oxfordshire Cotswolds and invite you to come and stay in our beautiful C16th farmhouse situated in the centre of the quiet rural village of Northmoor (between Witney, Oxford & Abingdon and 4 miles from the Downton Abbey village of Bampton!). Our community owned pub - The Red Lion -  which serves fantastic food, is within a 2 minute walk.

Whether travelling for business or pleasure the warmest of welcomes awaits you. Tea and homemade cake on arrival is served in our guests own sitting room with its woodburning stove, magazines and local information. Mary Anne is very knowledgeable about the area and will happily recommend places to visit to help you make the most of your time here. If you are on business she can advise on the best route to get you to your morning appointment on time! Free superfast WIFI is available.

Our two ensuite rooms – one double and one twin – boast comfortable beds with fine linen, tea/coffee making facilities, hairdryer, large fluffy towels and complimentary toiletries. Breakfast is served in the dining room and is cooked to order using fresh local produce whenever possible. All preserves, bread, fruit compotes and muffins are homemade.

The farm has been in the Florey family for four generations and enjoys a mile frontage of the River Thames and our pedigree herd of North Devon cattle can be seen grazing in the fields round Northmoor. Our field margins are filled with flowers, bees, butterflies and other wildlife. We have a large garden which you are welcome to enjoy.

Rectory Farm is ideally situated to visit Oxford, The Cotswolds, Blenheim Palace, Rousham Gardens, Buscot Park, Aston Pottery and gardens, Kingston Bagpuize House and Bampton – both Downton locations! .... plus many other local places of interest. We are only an hours drive from Stratford and just over an hour from Warwick and Bath; as well as being easily accessible to trains and buses that go direct to London. And the Thames Path passes through our river meadows.
